I've recently discovered that I have an obsession with decorating. I'm not talking Waverly-patterned pillows and Benjamin Moore paint. I'm talking "finding shit at an antique fair/painting chandeliers on the wall/finding uses for origami paper." I don't know if it's really decorating, per se, as much as it is surrounding myself with things I like. There is no particular design concept or unifying theme in my house, and I like it that way. Nate Berkus would vomit if he ever walks into my house. He's not invited, anyway.
I have a few ongoing projects in the house, listed below.
1. "Let's find pretty stuff to hide shit in."
2. "Oh look! Origami paper!"
3. Chandeliers - painted or on fabric is best.
4. Bright colors.
5. These two things don't match - let's get 'em!
So I have finally figured out what to do with this blog in the fall and winter. I'm a bit of an internet hound. I find myself constantly searching for stirring images and saving them in a folder, to be pulled out later when I win the lottery. With my lottery money, I will buy the things that I find on the internet. Every now and again, I find something inexpensive and figure out how to duplicate it in a practical manner. I may as well blog about it.
Get ready for pictures.
